Privacy Policy
Effective: August 5, 2026 · Last updated: August 5, 2026
This policy explains what Sagely Technologies LLC ("Sage the Date," "we," "us") collects when you use sagethedate.com, including our AI assistant, Sage (together, the "Service"), and how we handle it.
Summary We collect the event details you provide, account information if you create an account, and standard information about how the Service is used. We use an AI provider to generate Sage's responses. We send an inquiry email to a venue only at your request. We do not sell your personal information and we do not serve advertising. You may request deletion of your data at any time at privacy@sagethedate.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Event and planning details — location, guest count, date, budget, and venue preferences. Several of these fields accept free text and will contain whatever you choose to enter. Do not include sensitive personal information you would not want stored.
- Account information — name, email address, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google.
- Inquiry details — the name and email address you use to contact a venue, and the content of the message.
- Your conversations with Sage, and the searches, shortlists, and comparisons you create.
- Correspondence you send to us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — device and usage information, such as your IP address and approximate location derived from it, browser and device characteristics, operating system, mobile device identifiers, language preferences, referring URLs, and information about how and when you use the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5.
- Diagnostic data — error and technical context when a fault occurs, which may include your IP address and, if you are signed in, your account identifier.
Information from third parties — your name and email address from Google if you use Google sign-in, and location results from our mapping provider.
We do not request sensitive personal information. Free-text fields may contain details you choose to share, such as cultural or religious traditions relevant to your event; we use that information only to provide the Service and not to infer characteristics about you.
2. How we use it
- To operate the Service, including generating recommendations, answers, and estimates, saving your searches and conversations, and sending inquiry emails to venues at your request.
- To communicate with you about the Service and respond to your correspondence.
- To analyze usage, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.
- To comply with law and to protect our rights and those of our users and venues.
3. Artificial intelligence
Sage's AI features are provided through third-party AI providers, which may include OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. To generate a response, we transmit your inputs and relevant context to the applicable provider for processing, subject to that provider's terms.
Sage's output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate; see Section 5 of the Terms of Service.
4. Disclosure of information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We disclose information to service providers that process it on our behalf, under contract and only as necessary to operate the Service. These providers fall into the following categories: artificial intelligence, application hosting, database hosting, product analytics, error and performance monitoring, email delivery, mapping and location search, authentication, and security and abuse prevention. Depending on the provider, this may include your account details, your inputs to the Service, usage data, and your IP address.
We may also disclose information where required by law or valid legal process, to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or harm, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy or provide you notice.
Venues When you send an inquiry, the venue receives your name, your email address, and the content of your message. The venue then handles that information under its own practices, which we do not control.
Shared links Anyone with a link to your results can view them. Your free-text notes are withheld from viewers other than you. Treat any link you share as public.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use:
- Essential cookies — to keep you signed in, maintain your session, record that you have verified your email address, and provide security.
- Analytics cookies — to measure which features are used and how the Service performs.
We do not use advertising cookies and do not permit third-party ad networks on the Service.
Your controls You may block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the Service may not function properly without the essential ones. You may opt out of analytics by emailing privacy@sagethedate.com. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" headers, for which no common standard exists.
6. Retention
- Account data is retained while your account exists.
- Conversations are retained for the Service. Deleting your account deletes them.
- Email drafts and send records are retained for the Service. Deleting your account deletes them.
- Analytics and diagnostic logs follow our providers' standard retention schedules.
7. Your rights
We honor the following requests from users in the United States:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Access a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate information, much of which you can update directly in the Service.
- Delete your account and the personal information associated with it.
- Opt out of analytics.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
Email privacy@sagethedate.com and we will respond within 45 days. We verify requests by confirming control of the email address associated with the account. An authorized agent may submit a request with your written permission. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will inform you in writing of our decision and the reasons for it.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable law.
California residents may request the disclosure described in California Civil Code § 1798.83; we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, signed and HTTP-only session cookies, access controls, input validation, and rate limiting to protect the information we hold.
No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you provide information at your own risk. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email privacy@sagethedate.com and we will delete it.
10. Where we operate
We are based in the United States and the Service is intended for U.S. users. Information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from elsewhere, you are transferring your information to the United States, where privacy laws differ from those of your own jurisdiction. The Service is not offered to residents of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, and we do not target or knowingly collect information from them.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is material, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where practical, provide notice in the Service.
